Addition in Burtonsville, MD

Miner Feinstein Architects was hired to design an addition to an existing farmhouse in Burtonsville, MD. While, the existing house is located on a picturesque hillside overlooking 20 acres of horse farm, the house itself was reminiscent of typical colonial 1980s suburban tract house. Since the owners were running out of space with their growing family, they wanted to add a great room and master suite that would not only provide the space needed for family, but also allow the house to look more like the farmhouse that it truly is.
