Delta Alumnae Foundation, MD

Miner Feinstein Architects was contracted by the Prince George's County Delta Alumnae Foundation and their Project Manager JDC Construction to transform a stately old house that has been used for several years as a law office into a facility that will house their business office as well as provide a location to perform the Foundation's mission. The basement of the facility will be made handicapped accessible and be used as a multi-purpose area that will provide computer classroom space, cooking classroom space and open space that will be utilized to reach out to the young girls in the neighborhood. Upstairs, the spaces are being reconfigured so that the original character of the house can reemerge beneath the wood wall paneling and acoustic ceiling tile that is currently in place. This will allow for the Foundation to have a reception space that matches the dignified nature of the women of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
